In what has turned out to be a bumper recruitment year we welcomed over three hundred new faces to King Edward’s this September with a bumper crop of students at Year 7; with 80% of our Year 11 returning to join us in Year 12 and a further 10% of the year group coming from a range of other local schools. Of course to support this continued growth the staff room has also welcomed some new faces and this includes:
Miss Greasley who joins us in Art and is helping with Drama
Mr Kirby who joins us in History and Business Studies and is helping us with CCF and DofE
Mr Appleby who joins us in Mathematics and Physics
Miss Ashton who has joined the Modern Languages Dept
We’ve also had the pleasure of welcoming some student teachers who will be with us for a good part of the coming academic year:
Miss Pugh (English), Ms Morris (Languages), Mr Wesley (Computer Science) and Mr Sparling (Mathematics). Alongside them, Ms Mackett, who was one of our Learning Mentors has decide to train with us to become a Business Studies teacher.
